Want to see what a REAL VIP day looks like behind the scenes? Here’s your chance to get a sneak peak…
First and foremost, before you start offering VIP days, you’ll need to know exactly who your ideal clients are and what their biggest pain points are.
I have quite a few thoughts on ideal clients which you can read in an upcoming blog post. Long story short, I don’t believe ideal clients are a specific industry of people or people with specific traits. Instead, I believe an ideal client is simply someone who has a problem that you can solve. Many times we end up attracting clients that are similar to us, and that’s fantastic! But, why shut the door to clients that actually need us just because they don’t fit the mold exactly? (Are you going, “huh, never thought of that way before”? GOOD!)
Ok so now let me walk you through my client-problem-solution framework and how it translates to VIP days.
I was (actually still am!) offering total podcast pitching concierge service. My team and I handle everything from choosing topics, messaging, who to pitch, follow up, scheduling, and more. Basically A to Z.
My clients who purchased this had TWO problems:
Total concierge package was the perfect solution for them. But then I started hearing from other potential clients who WEREN’T buying the concierge package.
These clients also has two problems:
For these clients, the concierge was out of their budget. So I started thinking about ways I could serve this other audience, since I knew I was already capable of solving their first problem.
Now, if you’ve been in the online business industry for any amount of time, you’ll know that VIP days are usually more expensive. However, I decided to flip the script a bit. Here’s what I did:
So my VIP days are actually less expensive because I don’t include the actual implementation. I also tried to make them as systematized as possible to keep costs low. At the end our day together, my client walks away with a DFY visibility strategy and a DIY implementation plan. It solves BOTH of their problems.
You can absolutely choose to create a VIP day offer that is PRICED HIGHER than your typical services. It really just depends on what your offers are and how you structure them. In the case of my Marketing + Content Strategy Frameworks, the VIP day offer is more expensive than the 90-day project offer. This is because I’m delivering you the same thing, but quicker!
The great thing about this format, is that clients can come back to you as well. So maybe right now they don’t need monthly retainer work, but as they grow things change. My guess? You’ll be their first call for any future needs.
If you want to learn more about how to build a VIP day framework and then go out and sell it, my friend Jordan Gill is hosting her annual Done in a Day Virtual Conference on March 7th-8th. She is the QUEEN of VIP days and who taught me how to do this.
Tickets are usually $39, but Jordan’s letting past students hand out a little discount code. If you want to check out this awesome, totally-online event, click here for your discount! The line up is going to be INCREDIBLE!
